Design and Display of Vivo iQOO Z1x

The design remains the same. Both the Vivo iQOO Z1 and its sequel the Vivo iQOO 1x bear the same design. This means there is actually no telling which is which and also if you love the former, then you are certainly going to love the later.

On the rear of this smartphone, you will find a square camera module housing three cameras and an LED flash. You will also find the iQOO branding which sort of gives a hint that it’s a Vivo smartphone.

Upfront, we have a 6.57-inch display. Vivo moved from IPS LCD on the iQOO Z1 to a TFT LCD display on the iQOO Z1x. This display has a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a screen density of 402 PPI.

The Cameras

The camera department features a nearly identical package. However, there was a big change in the setup on the rear, as the 8MP ultrawide camera we saw on the Vivo iQOO Z1 was replaced with a 2MP dedicated depth camera on the Vivo iQOO Z1x.

The other cameras on the rear camera setup remain the same. It’s the same 48MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4.

Selfies on this Android phone are manned by the same single 16MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0.

Hardware and Software

The big story on the hardware department is the switch from a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor, to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor on the Vivo iQOO Z1x while still retaining an upper mid-range profile.

Other features supporting performance include an Adreno 620 GPU, 6GB / 8GB RAM options, and slightly bigger a non-removable 5000mAh battery.

The Vivo iQOO Z1x provides more storage variants, with the inclusion of the 64GB variant which wasn’t on the IQOO Z1. You also get 128GB and 256GB variants.

On the software side, you have got iQOO UI 1.0 running on the Android 10 operating system.

Connectivity

The Vivo iQOO Z1x features a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other connectivity features dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, and NFC.

Internet connectivity here is capped at 5G. This means enthusiasts are at liberty to stream, download and upload at 5G speeds, provided they are in an area with 5G reception.
